Steven P. Murray

October 1, 1956 - July 4, 2024

Steven Paul Murray, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2024, after a battle with cancer. Born on October 1, 1956, in North Platte, Nebraska, Steve lived a life full of love, adventure, and dedication to his family.

Steve was the son of Lorraine G. and Paul J. Murray. He spent his formative years in Nebraska and Illinois before pursuing higher education at Bradley University in Peoria where he met the love of his life, Randi. Their bond, forged during their college years, grew into a beautiful marriage that spanned 42 wonderful years.

A man of few words and many passions, Steve loved the great outdoors. He found joy in camping, fly fishing, and exploring nature’s wonders. Steve was an active member of Evergreen Trout Unlimited, where he shared his love for fly fishing and contributed to conservation efforts. Steve had a deep love for music, enjoying a wide range of genres and frequently attending live concerts. He also shared a passion for motorsports, cherishing the time spent attending races with his sons.

Steve's family was the cornerstone of his life. He was a loving husband to Randi and an affectionate father to Andrew (Erin) and Elias (Adrienne). Recently, he welcomed his first grandchild, Sophie, into the world, a bright light during his final days. Steve is also survived by his sister, Tamera Prewitt (David).

Please bring your favorite stories and memories to a celebration of Steve's life which will be held to honor his memory on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Congregation Beth Evergreen at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Steve’s memory to Colorado Trout Unlimited and St. Jude Children's Hospital, organizations close to his heart.

Steve, you will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
