Job Opening: Water Cremation Field Apprentice

Requirements 

  • Mortuary Science student or recent graduate 

  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License 

  • Ability to lift 100 lbs 

  • Technologically fluent with programs such as Google Docs, Google Sheets, filing software, email, Google Calendar, etc. 

  • Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately to families, vendors, and co-workers 

Subject to a background check. 

Specific Duties: 

  • Support daily operations as required by the Operations Manager 

  • Process cremated remains and prepare for release to next of kin 

  • Assist with the transfer of decedents from local facilities and private residences

  • Take first calls and coordinate the transfer of decedents into our care

  • Receive remains at our facility

  • Support with the preparation of decedents for the Water Cremation process (training through the Cremation Association of North America and for our specific equipment will be provided) 

  • Assist with the transfer of alkaline hydrolysis effluent to various land partners

  • Clean and maintain the facility as directed 

  • Schedule arrangement meetings, urn releases, and other appointments with next of kin

  • Administrative support such as filing, ordering merchandise, and answering phones

  • Other duties as assigned

Schedule 

  • This is a part-time role (20-25 hours per week) Monday-Friday from 8 AM to Noon and occasional weekends. Flexibility for class schedules can be accommodated as needed. 

  • On-call up to 7 days each month (additional compensation for on-call days) 

Compensation

  • Starting at $19 per hour

  • $100 monthly cell phone reimbursement  

  • Paid time off and sick time based on accrued hours 

  • 4 monthly mental health bonus PTO hours
