Barbara Ann Trenholme, wife, mother, grandmother, educator, and lover of life, passed away unexpectedly on September 13, 2021, at age 73 in Denver, Colorado. She was born in Galveston, Texas, on August 1, 1948, to Mary Macon Trenholme and Lawrence B. Trenholme. She is survived by her husband Vipin Worah, daughters Moneka Worah and Sarah Koenck, grandchildren Quentin Smart and Addison Smart, and siblings Richard Trenholme and Sarah Longoria. She was married for 43 years to the love of her life, Vipin Worah, and they had countless adventures together, including backpacking, traveling the world, and spending time with the people they loved most. She enjoyed backcountry skiing, hiking, and later in life, playing poker.

Barbara earned a PhD from the University of Texas and was a teacher, principal, mentor, and leadership coach. Dr. Trenholme to some, but Barbara to most, spent much of her career with Jefferson County Schools. She loved education, being a leader, and helping others achieve their goals. Her career was dedicated to educating all students, but especially those who are often left behind. Following her retirement, Barbara was a consultant to Littleton School District and part of Denver Public School’s Executive Coaching cadre.

Barbara was not afraid of conflict and excelled at coaching people through difficult situations. When growing up, her daughters would get annoyed with her conflict resolution tactics of requiring “I” statements to discuss their feelings instead of just grounding them. She was an amazing mother who loved spending time with her daughters while still pushing them to be their best. She talked to Sarah daily and enjoyed Vipin’s dinners at Moneka’s weekly. She was also a loving grandmother who adored her grandchildren. She helped teach them during COVID and loved having them spend the night frequently for spaghetti and meatballs and homemade ice cream.

She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. The immediate family will hold a service for her, followed by her cremation. A celebration of life will be scheduled for late October, 2021.
