Jacinta Shontel Jones
February 29, 1976 - January 14, 2022
Jacinta “Shontel” Jones was born on February 29, 1976, to Shirley Green and Wayne Harris in Chicago, IL. Shontel was the oldest of three children, being raised by her mother and father, her stepfather Homer Green, Sr., her aunt Lori Jones, her grandmother Hattie Jones, and grandfather A.D. Jones, Jr. Shontel spent her life growing up on the westside of Chicago. She would go on to move her family to Denver, CO, and to meet and marry Lawrence Mack, building a life herself and her children there.
Jacinta Shontel Jones departed this life on Friday, January 14, 2022. Jacinta leaves to cherish her memory her husband, her children, Jason Jones, Patrick Jones, Lorenzo Anderson, Zyria Anderson, and Elijah Anderson, as well as 8 beautiful grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sisters Lakeisha Watts and Nicole Harris, her brothers Homer Jones and Terrence Green, her sister-in-love Alexzandria Green, her chosen sister Stephanie Captain, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Her sister Rachel Harris preceded her in death.
Her children would like her to know that they loved her, they cherished her, and they know that they will see her again.
A word from her husband:
Words can’t describe how I’m feeling right now. We have lost an angel. She was a wife, a mother, and most of all, my friend. I’ve been blessed for three decades of knowing this woman, and someone who was always trying to change me for the better. I knew that “I caught a good one!”. Shontel wouldn’t want us to be sad on this day, she would want us, her kids, friends, and family, to be remembering her life. We all know that Shontel loved her kids. She would give them the world and more. I can’t wait until I’ll see her wonderful smile, spunky personality, and her beauty again. I’ve always said I’ll love you until the world blows up and her reply would be I love you to the moon and back. And I’d like to say to Shontel, “I’ll see you again when I get there.”.
From your loving husband, always,
Lawrence
