Pamela Belmore Campbell
November 29, 1944 - July 24, 2022
Pamela (77) of Lakewood, Colorado passed away peacefully in her sleep of natural causes. She was born in New York, New York to Margaret and Thorndike “Pete” Belmore Dame II. She attended both the University of Colorado and Colorado State University and became a PhD level academic offered the Rhodes scholarship.
Pamela was a beloved educator - teaching social studies at Adams City Alternative High School and developing and directing The Making of an Engineer - a program for gifted and talented children to take engineering classes - at Denver University.
A diminutive spitfire of a woman; she delightfully turned down her invitation to The Daughters of the American Revolution as well as debutante affairs, in favor of field hockey and water ballet. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Ireland (where she blissfully believed she was upon her passing). In her golden years she was an avid reader, as a good book and a glass of wine whisked her away to all the travel destinations she could dream of.
Pam was known as a lover of dogs, good music, drag racing with her former husband, college and pro basketball, and an active supporter of libraries, local politics, and the environment.
She is survived by her son Gregg Alexander Campbell Jr, her daughter Jennifer Llewellyn Dincola, their spouses, and a plethora of grandchildren with whom she loved to bake cookies for and venture to the library with.
In a grand Pam fashion, her memorial will be held at the Fleming Mansion, 1510 South Grant Street, Denver, Colorado on September 3rd, 2022 at 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. We will enjoy a brunch in her honor and a time for remembrances where we celebrate her life.
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
