Deborah McVeigh

Deborah Sue “Debbie” McVeigh, 71 of Littleton CO, passed away on February 12, 2023 at her home surrounded by family.

Debbie was born on December 28, 1951 to the late Robert and Virginia Rowland in Davenport, Iowa. She graduated in 1970 from Brillion High School, Wisconsin. She attended the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire where she met Bob McVeigh. Debbie and Bob were married on August 12, 1972 at Littleton United Methodist Church in Littleton, Colorado. They permanently moved to Littleton in 1973 where they raised their 3 children. She had a passion for early childhood education, helping to establish a preschool program at Littleton United Methodist Church before becoming a preschool director at Inter-Faith Task Force. She later partnered with Littleton Public Schools to found the Village for Early Childhood Education. Her work touched the lives of hundreds of children throughout her career. In addition to her work with children, she enjoyed getting together with her family and friends, quilting, and spending time in her mountain cabin. She was an active member at Littleton United Methodist Church throughout her life.  

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert McVeigh, her 2 sisters Barb Rowland (JoAnne Kurkowski) and Jennie (Kevin) Tierney, and her 3 children, Elizabeth (David Erhart) McVeigh, Ryan (Julie Nordstrom) McVeigh, and Meredith (Matt Landis) McVeigh, and her 5 grandchildren.
