Bernard “Buddy” Tucker

July 4, 1949 - August 13, 2023

Bernard Thomas Tucker, known as Buddy, was born on July 4, 1949. He was an adored father, husband, grandfather, sibling, son, and friend. Buddy joined the Lord in the early morning of August 13, 2023. To summarize Buddy’s life and the impact he had on everyone around him is impossible but knowing that he went by the name Buddy already says so much. He never met a stranger throughout his life, and he served as a beacon of light and optimism to his friends and family.

Buddy’s positive energy and optimism served as a catalyst for those of us who knew and loved him. He was the oldest of six siblings growing up in Maryland. Buddy was hardworking and was the first in his family to attend college, which was made possible by his athletic scholarship. He then thrived in marketing and sold innovative medical technology for over 36 years. Through his work, he met his wife, Julie, in a pig lab. Together they shared 27 years of companionship, family, friendships, adventures, and many sweet memories.

Fatherhood was Buddy’s greatest gift and joy. His children Lauren, Andrea, Hallie, and Stephen are forever grateful for his unending love and care. His love also lives on through his grandchildren Morgan, Adelynn, Abigale, and Bradley. He was always there for his children and grandchildren, whether he was coaching them on the sideline, calling them nightly, going on ice cream runs, or helping them build a treehouse.

Buddy was also passionate about the outdoors, sports, traveling, and food. For those who ski: “Every day was a powder day”. Whether he was playing 36-holes of golf, cycling 60 miles up a canyon, or skiing the back bowls in Vail, Buddy was always up for an adventure.

Buddy was the guy that would show up no matter what. His love within us will help to carry on his legacy as he continues to guide us from above.

Buddy’s Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
