“Those we love and lose are always connected by heartstrings and infinity” —Terri Guillmots
Our beloved mother, mother-in-law, sister, grandmother, and Lola (great-grandmother), Victoria Singson, passed away just before Christmas after an unexpected accident in front of her home.
Named Victoria in hopes of an Allied WWII victory, as she was born just after Japan invaded Guam and two days before Pearl Harbor. Our matriarch was the fourth of nine children to Maria and Mariano Guerrero. Growing up on the small Pacific island, Victoria developed an independent and adventurous spirit, driving a lifelong desire to see the world.
Along with her husband and three children, with one on the way, they made the leap to the states and DC. They eventually settled in the foothills of Colorado in Lakewood. The family camped and explored the western states, and later traveled to the Caribbean, Asia and Europe. She went white water rafting, skydived on her 70th and 80th birthdays, and climbed a fourteener at age 71.
While raising four boys, she obtained an associate degree in accounting. She became a budget analyst at a bank and later for the National Park Service. Later, Victoria also studied at the Boulder School of Massage to become a licensed Massage Therapist and became focused on keeping a healthy and active vegan lifestyle.
Victoria joins her beloved late husband, Romeo but leaves behind her sons, Vence, Rodney, Patrick, and Gerry. She helped raise their children, Tyler, Tori, Cara, and Ben. She welcomed our partners, Suzanne, Katie and Debby, into the family. Victoria doted on her treasured great-grandchildren, Clementine and Calvin. She leaves behind her remaining sisters, Sylvia, Terri, Bernadetta and Josephine, and sisters-in-law, Pacita and Betty.
