Suzi Olds McKown

August 22, 1950 - May 5, 2024

Suzi Olds McKown, of Denver, Co. passed on peacefully 05/05/2024 in the presence of those who dearly loved her . She bravely endured Progressive Supranuclear Palsy for the last 6 years.

Suzi was born August 22, 1950 to Jack and Virginia Olds in Davenport, Iowa.

She graduated from Assumption High School in 1968 and went on to have a very successful career in the telecommunications sector. She retired in 2012 after 46 years at what started as Northwestern Bell, ending up as CenturyLink.

Suzi had a kind and gentle spirit and was beyond generous. She enjoyed art festivals and farmers markets and horses. She was a prolific gardener and a masterful chef, always willing to share. She was Dog Mom Extraordinaire to her Akitas, Lucy, Ollie and Stella and they will happily greet her at the Bridge. Suzi was married to Doug McKown who preceded her in death.

Suzi will be missed by her siblings Mary Jennings (Dan), John Olds (Denise), Tom Olds (Linda), Chris Olds (Lynn) and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to our Colorado family for their care and kindness during Suzi’s difficult illness. We would also like to thank her Hospice nurse Kelsey Meurer and Eric Rooney for helping Suzi, and us, navigate this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers or memorials please do a random act of kindness and think of her. It was her way.

We are heartbroken today, but find comfort knowing that there will be a bright new star in the heavens tonight. Rest in Peace Suzi, you were so loved.
