John (Jack) Kracklauer
November 3, 1941 - January 14, 2025
Age 83, of Longmont, CO, passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 14, 2025. Jack was a loving husband and best friend of 44 years to Harriet Kay Kracklauer (Milloway); a caring and supportive father to Sean Kracklauer (Colleen) of Arvada, CO, Patrick Kracklauer of Pittsburgh, PA, stepfather of Todd Hull (Jen) of Seoul, South Korea and Dr. Troy Hull (Shannon) of Seattle, WA; who loved and cherished his grandchildren: Alexander Kracklauer, Ian Kracklauer, Hunter Kracklauer, Zachary Kracklauer, Lucas Hull, Victoria Hull, and Ian Hull; also survived by his sister, JoAnn Weidmann (Larry) of Pewaukee, WI, and a large and loving extended family. Jack was universally known to be kind to all, light-hearted with an easy smile and a twinkle in his eye, who loved to travel with Harriet Kay and could be found on the racquetball court most of his lunch hours for many years. He had a trademark handlebar mustache that he was never willing to shave off for fear that “people wouldn’t recognize me”. Jack was a diehard engineer and serial entrepreneur and a proud alumnus of the University of Notre Dame with a BS in Chemical Engineering and an MBA. He held multiple patents for his inventions and was an acknowledged global expert in his field of iron-based fuel additives for both gasoline and diesel applications. He worked for Union Carbide and Arapahoe Chemicals, before co-founding Econalytic Systems in Boulder, CO. A celebration of a life well-lived will be held at Westview Presbyterian Church, 1500 Hover St., Longmont, CO 80501, on January 24, 2025 at 11AM.
