Sandy Figgins
January 4, 1941 - April 21, 2025
Sandy (Hein) Figgins was born January 4th, 1941. She was the oldest child of Otto and Winifred Hein, who four years later had a son, Richard. Growing up she was a quiet girl with few friends. On November 9, 1968 she married Cecil Figgins. They lived in Arvada for many years and enjoyed traveling together. She was especially fond of Florida and Las Vegas, which they visited together numerous times. They had no children, but did have several dogs that they loved very much.
Sandy loved to read (her favorite author was Nora Roberts), make puzzles, create floral arrangements and travel. Sandy and Cecil were lifelong fans of the Colorado Buffalos football team, with season tickets and a willingness to follow their Buffs to bowl games across the country. Sandy was a member of the Buffalo Belles club, an organization for women to “delve into the intricacies of football and bolster their support for CU sports”. She loved sports, in general, and followed both the Broncos and Avalanche. Sandy loved animals of all types and made sure the birds and squirrels in her neighborhood had a good life with plenty of food! She supported many animal welfare organizations and never met a dog she didn’t like…or provide with treats.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, and husband. No services are planned, by Sandy’s request. Cremation has taken place. She is survived by nieces Cheryl and Sarah.
