Betty W. Prochnow

December 31, 1925 ~ November 21, 2022

Betty Jean (Wood) Prochnow, age 96, passed away on November 21, 2022 in Golden, CO from natural causes. She had been a longtime resident of Bellevue, NE for over 50 years. Betty was born on December 31, 1925 in Adel, IA to parents William Russell Wood and Josephine Angelina Williamson. She married Albert D. Prochnow on April 28, 1946 in Fresno, CA. After his death in 2005, she remarried William G. Cornell in 2007.

Betty was a homemaker; she raised 3 children, 2 dogs, a dozen chickens, 4 ducks, 1 horse and 2 husbands. She was the wedding director for the First Presbyterian Church in Bellevue for 38 years, a Red Cross volunteer for 26 years, a Master Flower Show Judge and an award-winning hand applique quilter.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, three brothers and both husbands. She is survived by a son Douglas L. Prochnow of Chicago, IL and a daughter Suzanne J. Prochnow Schlinsog (Dale) of Evergreen, CO. Another son David J. Prochnow lives in Mississippi.
