Susan Barcus Obituary Denver, CO

Susan Lee (Campbell) Barcus, beloved Baboo, entered this world on October 16, 1933 and journeyed to Heaven on February 18, 2023.  Sue was a Native Daughter of the Golden West, born in Pasadena and grew up in San Francisco.  Sue was the heartbeat of her family and the ultimate caregiver.  She called home California, New Mexico, Colorado, Virginia, and Peru.

The Great Depression informed Sue’s sense of simplicity throughout her life.  She was an inventive cook, expert baker, a firm believer in showing love through food!  She possessed an insatiable love of the arts in all forms… drawings, paintings, sculpture, museums, music, stage, movies.

Sue is reunited with her loving husband James, precious mother MeeMee, dear cousin GoGo, and many wonderful family and friends in Heaven.  Sue is survived by her brother George Campbell and sister-in law Ruthie, children Diana Barcus, Cathy Arambula, Les Barcus, Jennifer Stromberg, son-in-law Kevin Stromberg, grandchildren Lynn, Noel, Dennis, Meggan, Rachael, Nikki, Andrew, Aaron, Josh, Jake, and many loving nieces, nephews, great -grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Sue’s heart and kindness went beyond her family, she was Grandma Sue to so many of her grandchildren’s friends in San Ramon and Denver. Family and friends lives have been forever gifted with Baboo’s love for the arts and joy of preparing and sharing amazing meals wherever she was at home.  Sue lives on in our hearts!
