Dianne Jean Hinton
June 21, 1946 - March 10, 2023
Dianne Jean Hinton, 76, died on the 10th of March after a short illness. Her celebration of life will be held from 12pm – 4pm on May 5th at Hinton Steel Company, 1401 W. Wesley Ave., in Denver, Colorado.
Dianne was born on the 21st of June 1946 in Denver, Colorado, the second of four children to the late Sylvia and Arthur Eriksen. She married her best friend, John Kirby “Cubby” Hinton (deceased), on May 27th, 1978. Together they raised 3 daughters and 1 son, Lisa, John, Wendy, and Lori.
Dianne was an avid baseball fan. She loved telling everyone about “her” Denver Bears and was an avid Colorado Rockies fan. Dianne and Kirby formed Hinton Steel in 1978 in the basement of their home and turned it into the prosperous business it is today. Dianne was known for treating her employees like family and loved throwing barbeques for them and her customers. She loved going to baseball games, especially when the game was between the New York Yankees and her beloved Rockies. She also loved playing golf.
Dianne is survived by her son, John Starnes Pinkston III and his wife Shannon Pinkston; daughter, Wendy Lynn Hauck and her husband Glenn Hauck; her grandchildren, Haleigh Hauck, Hannah Cuellar, Michael Pinkston, Amanda Pinkston, and Hannah Pinkston; sister Kathleen Edwards, and brother Ivan Eriksen; and multiple great-grandchildren.
Dianne was preceded in death by both her parents; her husband; her granddaughter Melody; and her great-granddaughter Lilliana.
