Kathleen French Kirby

July 22, 1947- December 13, 2024

Kathleen French Kirby was born Tuesday, July 22 of 1947 to Loren and Lois Kirby in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her sister Patricia was born October 15, 1948. Kathy graduated from high school in 1965. She earned a bachelors degree in sociology from West Virginia University and a masters degree in social work in Scranton, Pennsylvania. She moved to Colorado in the late 1970's. Kathy worked at Goodwill for 12 years managing their rehabilitation programs. She also worked for years in adoption and surrogacy. Kathy and her husband Gary met in 1995 and the rest is history, as they had been together nearly 30 years. Kathy started her hospice career in February 2001 and retired in October, 2024. Kathy loved hot springs, vacationing at Grand Lake, golfing, traveling to SC with Gary. She loved the sun, the beach, Mexico, swimming, hiking, working out, walking, social justice, and she was a tremendous cook. Kathy was very excited about skydiving with Gary in Mexico. She loved music and concerts. Kathy had a strong faith in God. She didn't completely define her beliefs, but felt strongly about Heaven, Near-Death experiences, and read every book written on these subjects. Kathy was looking forward to finding out what heaven would be like. In the end, Kathy believed that death would lead her to the grandest party ever! Kathy died Friday, December 13th, 2024 at 1:10. She was surrounded by close friends and family.
