Bob Unger
June 15, 1949 - December 16, 2024
Robert G. Unger (aka the Viking) was born in Denver Colorado on June 15th, 1949 and passed away peacefully in his home with his wife by his side on Monday, December 16th, 2024.
Bob lived an exemplary life of resilience, strength and integrity. Enlisting in the Air Force at the age of 18, he was honorably discharged after four years at his highest rank of Staff Sergeant and Warrant Officer. He then attended the University of Colorado to earn his BS in chemistry and a Masters of Business Administration and later went on to have an established career as a chief credit officer in the banking industry where he met his life long partner, Annie Seidel at the First National Bank of Denver in 1982, then married in 1985.
While pursuing his career in banking, he spent his free time hunting, fishing, camping and completing countless renovation projects on their home in Golden Gate Canyon. One of his greatest pleasures was planting the 40 plus trees surrounding their home, creating the beautiful landscape that defines it today.
Later in life he rediscovered his passion for motorcycle riding and had many adventures with good friends and Annie.
Bob was a caring and loving father to his two sons - Jeff, 44, and Justin, 32, teaching them how to fish, shoot and enjoy all things Colorado has to offer.
Bob is survived by his wife, Annie, his two sons, Jeff and Justin, and three brothers, Larry, Gary and David.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks to consider planting a tree in his honor or making a donation to your charity of choice.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the coming months.
