Maria Dewey (Kania), 71, passed away on February 11, 2025, in Lakewood, Colorado. She was born on February 9, 1954, in Denver, Colorado, to Zofia and Wladislaw Kania. She was a graduate of North High School.

Maria was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and a caring sister and friend. She cherished time spent with her family and friends, always bringing warmth and joy to those around her. Whether gathered for special occasions or simply enjoying everyday moments, she found happiness in the company of her loved ones.

She shared a deep bond with her husband, Donald Dewey, with whom she enjoyed many cherished experiences, including their many days spent at the racetrack. Maria also found great joy in attending murder mystery dinners, indulging in her love of reading, and creating lasting memories with her family.

Maria is survived by her husband, Donald Dewey; her daughter Kristen Orbach and son-in-law Justin Orbach; her grandson Dominic Orbach; her stepdaughter Cindy Smith and son-in-law Mike Smith; and grandchildren Emilee Smith, Nolan Smith, and Alexandrea Fabian. She is also survived by her sister Ann Schumann and brother-in-law Steve Schumann; her brother Stan Kania and sister-in-law Patty Kania; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Zofia and Wladislaw Kania, and her brother Zbigniew "Jimmy" Kania.

Maria’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her.
