Ronald “Todd” Leahy

June 8, 1934 - February 11, 2025

With hearts full of gratitude for a life well-lived, we celebrate the remarkable journey of Ronald “Todd” Matthew Leahy, who passed away at the age of ninety on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, in Longmont, Colorado.
A devoted son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend, Todd’s life was a testament to kindness, curiosity, and quiet strength.

Born June 8, 1934, in Chicago, IL, Todd embraced a life of service, adventure, and lifelong learning. A proud alumnus of St. Rita High School, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago, and a Master of Arts from Loyola University. A veteran of the United States Navy, Todd carried his sense of duty and discipline into everything he did.
Whether working hard to provide for his family, challenging ideas with his signature constructive wit, or volunteering for Habitat for Humanity in Florida and Colorado, Todd’s dedication to others was unwavering. He volunteered with Partnership in Missions to Ecuador and Bolivia, as well as for the Navajo Missions in Chinle, Arizona.

A lover of the great outdoors, Todd found joy in hiking scenic trails, collecting shells on the beach, and gathering rocks for his lapidary hobby while marveling at nature’s beauty. His passion for exploration took him far and wide, always seeking new experiences and knowledge. Even in quiet moments, he could be found lost in a good book, reading the paper, or contemplating the world with insatiable curiosity while sitting on a park bench.

A man of faith, Todd was a dedicated member of St. Ita Church in Chicago, IL, where he found solace and community for his family for over forty years. He cherished simple moments—tinkering away at projects for friends, sharing wisdom with loved ones, and embracing life’s adventures with an open heart.

Todd is survived by his beloved wife, Rose Navarro; his daughters, Jennifer Harnish (Corey Harnish) and Ann Navarro-Leahy (Lucas Little); his sister, Diane Cass (Jim Cass); his grandsons, Andersen and Oliver Harnish; and a large, loving circle of nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever carry his memory. He is reunited in peace with his parents, Kathleen Howe and Thomas Leahy, his brothers, Thomas and William Leahy, and his nephew, Timothy Leahy.

A celebration of Todd’s life will take place in Chicago, IL, in the summer of 2025, where family and friends can gather to share memories and honor his legacy. A viewing and blessing will be held at Be A Tree Cremation, 3720 Pierce St., Wheat Ridge, CO 80033, on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. MT.
