Mom was not a fan of funerals or obituaries. So I felt it appropriate to do things a bit differently, In her honor. Anyone who knew my Mom, knew her love of the written word, specifically a good book or poetry. The following poem was written to Mom by her partner John.
Lines for Kerry Preston
Requiem for a Muse
Hands now in a forever hold
svelte form in a patient pose
perhaps its fate you wait for me
Created a Fair Slave to Art
now free to serve your Self Spirit
while I employ your Subtle Gifts
Debt due a Muse is eternal
No currency can be tender'd
The Muse's Gifts endure as well
Hold dear those which are so render'd

My Mother always said to me...... DO NOT celebrate my death, celebrate my life! So let’s Gather and share the happy memories of her life, make a toast to her final farewell. What makes this idea so special to me is that we can do just that on what would have been her 75th Birthday, this Sunday 3/28/2021.
